A nicely fitting pair of boyfriend jeans, grey tee and sneakers – I love a simple and comfortable uniform of perfect basics as in the case of Lilli who I met on Torstraße in Berlin today. She works for Berlin’s most famous jewelry designer Sabrina Dehoff right now. And of course Lilly is right on trend with the Stan Smiths’, they might be everywhere but I have to say, they do look good !
post-post correction and some more thoughts on denim :
I assumed these type of wider fitting denim fall in the category ‘boyfriend’ jeans, now I learned that the are actually ‘mom’ jeans, I guess I’m a bit late knowing the current jeans trends. Elin Kling very recently said in an interview on her new label TOTÊME, “I’m very over the boyfriend shirt, the boyfriend sweater, the boyfriend denim. We’re living in 2014. Let’s make clothes for women,”(…) “We don’t need to borrow from our boyfriends.” I’m not sure that I agree 100 percent, as I find the idea of men’s inspired clothing for women very charming and a girl dressing in her boyfriend’s shirt in the morning … and I love the fact that comfortable jeans are in fashion now. I am actually over the skinny jeans and tight stuff in general right now and I am looking more and more for comfort. Admittedly ‘boyfriend’ jeans often look a bit unflattering in the crotch area and make legs a bit shorter, so maybe the slightly more fitted ‘mom’ jeans are the better boyfriend jeans. Or something like that …
