I love when I get the chance to work with a talented stylist like Julia Freitag with whom I photographed this Fall Story for German Gala magazine.
They are different from what you are used to seeing from my street style photos, since they are constructed images. I like the creative work that goes in to an editorial and the fantasy and story that goes along with it. I will be honest, as photographer I want to keep a balance between the street style, or fashion week street style because I love the dynamic of it and also portrait and editorial work.
Here we photographed in two stunning Berlin landmark locations, the Henselmann apartment (the architect of Berlin’s Strausberger Platz) and one of the Towers of Frankfurter Tor. If you have been to Berlin you know the powerful feeling of Karl-Marx-Allee. Not an easy place to like actually.
My highlights from this shoot are the Max Mara houndstooth dress and coat, the red Vinyl coat and the smoking. I am still looking for a proper tuxedo for my wardrobe. I also like the idea of a fancy outdoor Pajama like this one by Michale Kors. And then there is that Dior look on model Sandra, the pretty ‘librarian’. ..
